April Ross

April Ross is one of only a few female beach volleyball players who have won medals in more than one Olympics. Alix-Klineman will be competing with April Ross Tokyo in order to claim her third gold medal over the next couple of days. Ross will also be hoping for her first Olympic medal. At 39, it may be her last shot. But she's confident top awards are within reach. If we do our best or even if we do well, I believe we'll be able to win that gold medal Ross declared on NBC Boston. This is also an issue of luck. Ross was born in 1982 and was raised within Costa Mesa California with her mother and sister, first began playing athletics at Newport Harbor High school. In addition to competing in various sports, Ross was also a student at Newport Harbor High School. She was a basketball player and also ran the track as well as her volleyball skills in the indoors in her time as a college athlete. She was clearly the best in the game of indoor volleyball. In her own biography in high school, she played volleyball as an outside setter (middle blocker) as well as a the setter (outside blocker). As a tribute to her efforts, she received the Gatorade Award for National Player 1999. Her skills in volleyball earned her an Orange County Athlete of the Years trophy in 2000. Ross and Klineman started their partnership in 2017, but Ross was a beach scene star for years before. The fact is, she's won multiple big tournaments and one of them was a volleyball superstar. In the period 2007-2013 she played together with Jennifer Kessy who more recently played the role of Klineman's coach. Along together with Kessy, Ross won an Olympic Title in 2009 when she competed internationally. The pair eventually picked up an Olympic silver medal during the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The Misty Maytreanor legendary team along with Kerri Jennings took home the gold. Ross Jennings replaced May-Treanor when she retired. They went on to compete for the bronze beach volleyball trophy in the Rio Olympics 2016. They were joined by Walsh Jennings. Ross competed for USC Trojans during her college days, the years prior to her professional career. This was an impressive performance for Ross during her time at the school. The year 2000 was her freshman year. was when she won the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman of the award and become an All-American. Additionally, she was a key player in helping the Trojans make it to the Final Four. In her sophomore season she suffered a devastating personal tragedy, but was able to be named an All-American. In her last two years of participation in the Trojans program, she coached the team to win a national championship every year. The achievements of each individual have established her as a volleyball legend. Ross was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the nation's best female collegiate player. Ross played international relations as a major at USC. Margie Ross wasn't able to see her daughter's climb to the beach volleyball spotlight. Ross lost the breast cancer that she battled in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She is devoted to her parents who passed away. Margie is a source of inspiration throughout her life, as well as on the beaches.
